I discovered my love of travel in college when I won a trip to Cancun Mexico. That stroke of luck allowed me to see a piece of the world I didn’t know existed. On that trip, I climbed to the top of a pyramid in Chichen Itza (when you were still allowed to do that), met really interesting people and had some great food! My eyes had been opened and I wanted more. Since then, I’ve sought out travel locations that allowed me to decompress at an all-inclusive, explore Europe by car (all by myself!) and cruise the Mediterranean & Caribbean (so far). Some of my favourite places have been Istanbul, Barcelona, Florence, Athens, Dublin, Key West and the pyramids in Egypt.
In my spare time I volunteer with North Simcoe Victim Services (Orillia) as a crisis responder. It’s very rewarding to be in a position to help members of our community in crisis by providing immediate emotional and practical support and referrals. I also have a tendency to adopt senior rescue dogs who need a soft spot to land after years of …. well we don’t exactly know.
